So, our plans for Spain didn’t exactly go as we had imagined. We spent a few weeks working at the place we had planned to be at for quite some time ahead. It quickly became clear the price that would be asked of us if we stayed. So we all sat down and agreed that it would be for the best to end things now before we grew to be miserable. We packed up our things and moved out to a nearby town where we have been spending the last few weeks.
Lloret de Mar

After so long being landlocked in Austria and remote in general, Johana and I both craved being close to civilization again. So when we chose a place to come to, the beach town of Lloret de Mar fit the profile perfectly. Picturesque beaches, nightlife, restaurants, and a real taste of Spanish life. It was a very overdue vacation for us having worked so long prior to this.
Otherwise, these last few weeks we have had quite the adventure for us. Many nights spent walking along the beach. Hikes along the rocky coastline, and so much good food! We even had the fortune to see some good friends of ours which made the experience all the sweeter for us.
We still had to figure out what exactly we were going to do now. Last year proved to us that this time is more difficult to find opportunities, so we were skeptical of what might come next for us. But we knew we would figure something out. It looks like we’ve got something good coming up but I don’t want to jinx our luck. But it looks really good what comes next for us.

We still have some time to spend before our next opportunities open up for us. So last night we decided that we want to make another one of our dreams come true. For months now, we’ve talked about visiting Venice, Italy together. So that’s exactly where we’re headed next. We’ve got our flights booked, accommodation secured, and a plan for the road ahead.
I can’t wait to see The Floating City, and I’m even more curious what comes afterwards for us. So like last year, just around the same time for me. The lesson is to expect the unexpected, and perhaps what may seem like a disaster or a giant setback could turn out to be a blessing in disguise that opens the door to things beyond what you could have foretold.
