It’s been a while since we left the Alps.
Shortly after departing, Johana and I embarked on probably the most ambitious and important adventure we’ve done yet. For months — since Austria, actually — we’d been planning to fly Johana’s parents in from Uruguay. They’ve never left Uruguay before, they’ve never flown, and now they’re in their 70s.
It was beautiful. For weeks, we traveled around Europe together and shared a wonderful time all together. We reconnected the family, and brought them back to their roots here in Europe. Still just think about it, it brings goosebumps to my skin. It really was something magical. Similar to the days that Johana and I met. I will miss them deeply, and I cannot wait to see them again soon.

Now, Johana and I are back in Germany and are settled in for the summer. We’re very lucky to be surrounded by an amazing group of people right now and we’ve both got hands full with the work on our plates.
Nevertheless, some things have been on my mind recently.
Change
It was on a quiet day a couple of months back. Johana and I had come down to the French village at the foot of the Alps for our weekly escape from the resort atmosphere. We were having a coffee, when the next step in my journey came to light.
I had just filed for Chapter 7 back home in the USA. My life back home has been a mess ever since I left, and it was time to fix things. I had researched all the options thinking that an expensive lawyer was my only option, but I decided to take it upon myself to do it all myself. And so I did.
In this process I realized that I didn’t hate this kind of work. Quickly I asked myself if I could tolerate lots of paperwork, what kind of doors for work does that open for me? What kind of doors can that open right now?
And so the idea was born. I will work as an accountant, build it into something bigger overtime, and take the step that I had always needed to take in my life. Very much like before, I connected the dots, and built something out. However, this time, I’ve learned my lesson. I know how to play the game this time. So I present:
